June RAFT Field Day: Maywood x Rio Hondo

Are you interested in becoming a citizen-scientist? Have you ever been curious about the water health of the LA River? This is the perfect opportunity for you to join our River Assessment Field Team!

Join LA Waterkeeper staff as we explore a segment of the LA River in Maywood and South Gate! Practice your community science skills as we explore the lower LA River. 

Volunteers will learn about LA River's history and current challenges, and use field kits to determine the river's health and biodiversity! We'll meet at our first location - Hollydale Regional Park, and caravan to our second location, the Riverfront Park in Maywood. 

This family-friendly event welcomes volunteers with all experience levels to join us for a fun morning of learning and community building!
